BIOGRAPHY
Born in New Jersey and raised in Maryland. Received Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from The Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, R.I. Married Naval Officer in 1973 and lived on the East Coast, West Coast, Deep South and Europe. Worked during this time as a commercial artist and illustrator. Lived on a sailboat for over a year, cruising to Maine and the Bahamas. Now has a home and art studio on a farm in Chowan County. Featured in article on the Artrain in the August 1996 issue of Smithsonian Magazine. Received an Emerging Artist Grant from The North Carolina State Arts Council. Listed in 1999 Whos Who in the South & Southwest. Board Member, NC Watercolor Society, 2001. Owner of the Robin Sams Gallery at 315 S. Broad St., Edenton, N.C.

Description of Work
Concentrates on the effect of light on form, and color relationships while working realistically in watercolor and oils. Favorite subjects are all portraits, figurative work and landscapes. Has studied with Christopher Schink, Don Andrews, John DeLa Vega and Ralph Smith. Accepts commissions.
